Environmental Health and Safety Goals
Allergan has developed far-reaching Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) strategic sustainability goals to ensure that we uphold our EHS mission and policies companywide. The current Allergan EHS Sustainability strategic goals extend from 2011 through 2015 and are as follows:
- Improve Sustainability Performance
- Reduce injury and illness incident rate ≤ 0.80
- Reduce number of lost days by 10% using 2010 as the baseline
- Achieve Allergan overall recycling rate ≥ 75%
- Achieve 15% Allergan waste reduction in absolute terms by 2015 using 2010 as the baseline
- Achieve 15% energy reductions in absolute and normalized to square footage, production and sales terms by 2015 using 2010 as the baseline
- Achieve 15% water reductions in absolute and normalized to square footage, production and sales terms by 2015 using 2010 as the baseline
- Achieve 15% GHG emissions reduction in absolute terms by 2015 using 2010 as the baseline
- Achieve 1% point source volatile organic emissions reduction by 2015 using 2010 as the baseline
- Achieve 1% Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) load reduction by 2015 using 2010 as the baseline
- Increase fleet vehicle fuel efficiency
- Purchase 15% green energy by 2015
- Increase EHS community interaction
- Integrate Sustainability into Allergan Business
- Integrate EHS into product research and development (from concept to production)
- Marketing to drive the EHS product initiatives for promotion purposes
- Improve Sustainability Accountability and Staffing
- EHS objectives integrated into the Executive Committee objectives and tied to compensation
- Add EHS representation in the EAME, Asia Pacific, and Latin America regions
